Lynchburg College was founded in 1903 in Lynchburg Virginia as a selective, independent, coeducational, residential college. It has a historical relationship to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a denomination that values and celebrates all faith traditions. Lynchburg College also joins a group 215 colleges and universities in the United States that offer a Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
