McDaniel College is a private 4-year university, located in Westminster, Maryland, that was founded in 1867 as Western Maryland College. The school was renamed in honor of William R. McDaniel who was a student, professor, administrator, parent and trustee to the school. His impact in defining the college campus was so instrumental that he will forever be cemented in the school legacy with a life that was associated with the campus for 65 years.
